Life is a basic fundamental right, and despite how serious the crime committed by the offender was, no state can claim the right to remove a life.
In the film "the life of David Gale" I found it intresting how on the one hand there is the possition of a sector in society which agrees with applying death sentence to offenders, and on the other hand, there is a group against it and the constant discussion between these 2 groups, the same discussion and the same reasons that people have to support, their convictions. In the movie give us a position completely against death penalty with really great arguments.
Before watching the film I was convinced that a person who raped and killed must die, but after watching "the life of David Gale" I changed my point of view because, as It´s shown in the movie, there is a risk of killing an innocent person, taking a life is easy, but as far as I know bringing it back is impossible.
All in all, I think that the punishment that should receive a person who raped or killed is being in jail by a certain amount of time and meanwhile rehabilitate that person, and if the doctor is sure that he/she realised that they did is wrong, realease him.
