At this point in the novel, when curiosity about Gatsby had reached a fever pitch, he stopped doing parties.
The only purpose of the parties was seeing Daisy and now that Gatsby and Daisy were together the parties didn´t have any sense. Moreover, Daisy had started to go more to Gatsby´s house.
In the hottest day of the summer Dai
sy invited Gatsby, Nick and Jordan. That day she exhibited her little daughter in her house.
During the day Tom realised that Gatsby and his wife were having an adventure so he confronted Gatsby because he saw that they were kissing so Tom was very furious. Daisy and Gatsby´s took Tom´s car and escaped so Tom took Gatsby´s car, and went behind them. Jordan and Nick went with him.
Tom stopped for gas at Wilson´s garage and Wilson told them that he´d decided to kill his wife, because he had discovered that she was having an affair. But Tom disagreed with Wilson.
At the same time that Tom was discussing with Wilson Gatsby decided to fight with Tom for the love of Daisy, Daisy was sweating and she accompanied Gatsby to the fight.
Tom and Gatsby had a big fight at Wilson´s garage. What´s more, In the midle of the discussion Daisy admitted that she had never loved Tom. So Tom shouted very angryly, “if I can´t have Daisy, you either”. And after that he killed Daisy with a knife that was in the floor of the garage.
Then, Tom went away. Gatsby stayed with Daisy, crying. Nick who was next to Gatsby saw the whole scene through the window. While Tom was escaping, he hit Myrtle and Wilson with the car, and Gatsby shouted “ Tom is going to pay for this”. Finally, Gatsby went to Tom´s house to kill him and he did it. He killed him with the necklace of Daisy that she give to Gatsby.
